Pirelli GT Sprints 771 Motorsports Race Report – BEMC Indian Summer Trophy Races

771 Motorsports invited me to the seventh round of the Canadian Automobile Sports Club Pirelli GT Sprints.  It is one of the series running during the British Empire Motor Club  Indian Summer Trophy Races .

After the receiving aero upgrades, alignment, and corner balancing since the last race, 771 Motorsports seemed confident with the improvements on their #71 Honda Civic racecar.  Additionally, a fresh set of Pirelli slick racing tires have been mounted on the Enkei RPF1 wheels.

However, they are still down on power compared to other cars in their class.  This is a significant disadvantage for the Grand Prix track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.  To overcome the power deficit, 771 Motorsports driver Pauly Plewa really had his work cut out for him. Fiesta ST Autocross – TLMC 2018 Finale

The Inside Line Auto Ford Fiesta ST at the 2018 TLMC Autocross Finale.

After taking my less than stellar showing with the Fiesta ST at the previous round of Twin Lakes Motor Club autocross, I was determined to improve my driving at the 2018 season finale on September 9th.

The last TLMC round was a double header event running two different courses in one day.  To add to the challenge, the cold weather made it very difficult to get heat into the tires.

Ford Fiesta ST Autocross – BC Racing Coilovers Handling Test

Ford Fiesta ST next to an Audi R8 V10. Tough competition at autocross!

The Inside Line Fiesta ST has been due for a shakedown since the BC Racing coilovers were installed in July.  Round 6 of the Twin Lakes Motor Club (TLMC) Autoslalom was a perfect opportunity to put the new setup through its paces.

Lower ride height, stiffer springs and dampers combined with a more aggressive alignment should make the car more competitive in the Street Touring Hatch class.  However, it is still up to the driver to put down a fast time at the end of the day!
