After finishing second place in the CASC Pirelli GT Sprints GT4 class at the BEMC Indian Summer Trophy race weekend, 771 Motorsports is back at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) for the last race of the year. The team looks to carry momentum from the previous race to finish the season and start out strong for 2019.
771 Motorsports invited me to the seventh round of the Canadian Automobile Sports Club Pirelli GT Sprints. It is one of the series running during the British Empire Motor Club Indian Summer Trophy Races .
After the receiving aero upgrades, alignment, and corner balancing since the last race, 771 Motorsports seemed confident with the improvements on their #71 Honda Civic racecar. Additionally, a fresh set of Pirelli slick racing tires have been mounted on the Enkei RPF1 wheels.
However, they are still down on power compared to other cars in their class. This is a significant disadvantage for the Grand Prix track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Zygrene published a video review of the Lotus Evora S comparing the British sportscar to the first generation Acura NSX. I can’t believe this comparison never clicked in my head as both cars look eerily similar on paper: mid-engine, rear wheel drive, V6 powered lightweight sportscars.
