Wheels Battleground – The 2016 Tires 23 Annual Meet Presented by Squeaky Clean and Tuner Evolution
Modified cars, discounted tires/wheels, giveaway prizes and free food? Count me in! Tires 23 hosted their annual customer appreciation meet on September 25th with SqueakyClean Lowlifes Crew.
This year’s meet was named Wheels Battleground with trophies awarded to the cars in attendance. Seeing my completely stock Fiesta ST among the GTRs, NSXs, Zs and other heavily modified cars made me realize that I had brought a pocket knife to World War 3.
Tires 23 organized a raffle for the event to raise funds for the Trillium Health Partners, with brand new sets Bridgestone and Federal Tires as grand prizes! Even though I didn’t end up winning a set, my wife was happy with the amount of swag we walked away with.
This year will mark the first winter I’ll have with the Fiesta ST, so I am in need of a set of proper winter tires and wheels. Tires 23 was offering an additional $50 discount on winter tire pre-orders placed at the event so I pulled the trigger on a set of rally inspired Sparco Terras with Bridestone Blizzak WS80s.
Having owned a Subaru Impreza STI for 5 years, I definitely took AWD for granted and I’m curious to see how the front-wheel drive Fiesta will handle the Ontario winter. Stay tuned for a review once I get some seat time in the snow!
